Idris Mohammed Gobir (born December 25, 1975) is a Nigerian politician, public administrator, and technocrat who currently serves as the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State. Gobir started his career in public service as a teacher with the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) in Sabon Birni in 1997. He later transitioned into technical roles, working as a Technical Officer at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) from 1998 to 2006. Gobir’s journey in governance began in 2007 when he was appointed Sole Administrator of Sabon Birni Local Government.
